Frontispiece for the Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan storyline The Green Knight's Belt. That storyline, which will start publication on the website in October, is a very old one, and very crude compared to my present work. I'm drawing new cover art for it to remind people that I can actually draw a little bit. This isn't the cover (my scan of the line art for that got corrupted, and switching the SCSI A3 scanner on is a bit of a hassle because it requires a reboot, so I decided to work on something else); it's a frontispiece. It will be published the next update after the cover, with a foreword underneath it.
By the way, that's how it's spelled. "Foreword". I've seen too many publications, including professional ones, spell it "Forward" which is an entirely different word altogether.
Where was I? This shows the Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan in something like the costumes they wore at the start of their first adventure (I don't know what I was thinking when I gave Ragna that loincloth, but it can't have been very rational), but better drawn and in colour. I'll post the cover art soon-ish possibly maybe. The four original Rogues are toasting their new adventure; this scene didn't actually appear in the book but it could well have. Update and warning: I had a print available for this piece, but something went wrong with the source file. When I checked it, it showed only part of the image, and not any part I'd selected myself. So I've deactivated it. I may or may not retry uploading a print source for it.
This is a really cool image. I don't normally glace at recent deviations, but this one really caught my eye. The short little gnomish guy would hafto be my favorite, just because he can't reach high enough to celebrate.
Thanks. Getting a comment so quickly always makes me feel good. I liked the sight of Jake the Gnome being too short to reach the other tankards as well - it was very difficult to fit him into the composition that way, but it was worth it!

The idea of this contest is to set you up completely blind with a mythical being - from any world culture - and turn you loose to come up with a deviation based around it!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
