For the past few years I've had a monthly one-page comic in the Dutch ESL learners' magazine Hello You!. This year, they wanted to tweak the formula a bit, and as a result of the frenzied negotiations that followed after they finally got around to telling me this (just days before script deadline), I ended up as my own colorist after four years of the comic being colored by Marjorie van Doorn. I'm happy with this because it gives me more control over the look of the finished product, but also kind of nervous, because I'm not used to working with Photoshop! I've done lots of work in color, but always for the Web, in Paint Shop Pro, so working in PS and for print is new to me. This is my first attempt, which I will email to the magazine tomorrow. Let's see what they think and if they can work with the material (the files I'll send them are two files of line art at 900 DPI and two of only the color layers at 300 DPI).
I can't give you the dialogue, BTW. That would put me firmly in breach of contract territory, which is not good territory to be in.

The idea of this contest is to set you up completely blind with a mythical being - from any world culture - and turn you loose to come up with a deviation based around it!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
