Undesigning my website

Undesigning the front page. In a way this is going back to the earlier homepage esthetic from 2000-2007, but this is even more austere: no ads or other external scripts, no logo graphic for the header part (though that may still change), just 5 kb of HTML/CSS code and the main image. And it works pretty well on a phone!
Not happy with the color scheme here but I've already got a new version ready to go. I'm also trying to figure out how I can make the image fill the available space on a phone better.
Re "This is where transcripts will go": if I can get the existing transcriptions out of www.ohnorobot.com and into my database, that bit will disappear and the transcripts will be hidden with CSS so that only screen readers (and Lynx) will have to deal with it. But this will make the comics accessible for people with low vision, which has been on my wish list for years.
